Qatar University, Doha, invites applications for a full time position at the level of Assistant Professor in several departments to begin January 2024. The position is renewable. Primary responsibilities will include developing and teaching classroom-based and online courses in with demonstrated teaching excellence and a commitment to scholarship.

QUALIFICATIONS & EXPERIENCE:

Assistant/Associate/ Professor in Health Promotion

• A Ph.D. degree in health promotion
• Qualifications that demonstrate a breadth of knowledge and skills across the field of health promotion rather than being focused on one specialised topic
• Knowlege of the breadth of current health promotion practice and international health promotion competencies
• A record of health promotion research experience, grants and publications in high quality peer-reviewed journals
• Skills and experience in supervising undergraduate and graduate students’ research projects
• Skills and experience in teaching health promotion courses in an academic setting at undergraduate and graduate levels, preferably in various modes including on-campus, online, and mixed methodes
• Creative and innovative approach to curriculum development, teaching and assessment
• Excellent written and oral communication skills
• Arabic language is preferable, but not mandatory.

Assistant/Associate/ Professor of Mass Communication

• Ph. D. in the relevant area of emphasis
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record
• At least seven years of teaching experience at the tertiary level
• Familiarity with educational technology.
• Familiarity with research-related software and programs.
• Willingness to work with teams.
• Ability to work with people from diverse backgrounds
• Excellent written and oral communication skills (Arabic and English)

Assistant Professor of Architecture & Urban Design

• A PhD or equivalent in a relevant field is necessary.
• Required to be at least recognized authority in the subject area with achievements in research and scholarship, and an in-depth understanding of own specialism(s) to enable the development of new knowledge and understanding within the field.
• Evidence of relevant research potential, including potential to publish in appropriate leading journals.
• Evidence of ability in teaching example able to use a range of delivery techniques to engage the interest and enthusiasm of students and inspire them to learn.
• Ability to initiate development in the curriculum and to take responsibility for the effective and efficient delivery of teaching programs, developing the curriculum and appropriate assessment techniques.
• Understanding of equal opportunity issues as they may impact on areas of teaching.
• Engaged in continuous professional development.
• Good interpersonal skills and ability to relate well to colleagues and different kinds of students.
• Ability to perform to required deadlines and to initiate, plan, organize and deliver programs of work.

Assistant Professor in Renewable Energy

• Ph. D. in Energy Engineering, Photovoltaic (PV) Systems, Applied Physics, or equivalent.
• Strong peer-reviewed publication record
• Have at least three years of teaching experience after PhD at university level.
• The candidate must be familiar with educational technologies used in higher education sector.
• Awareness of working with people from diverse backgrounds
• Candidates must have an emerging research record and trajectory in Renewable Energy, evidenced by existing or forthcoming articles in highly rated academic journals and/or books with leading academic presses.
• The candidate is expected to have excellent communication skills, both verbal and writing. Fluency in English is required.
